APCAS, Associação de Paralisia Cerebral de Almada Seixal, is an organization dedicated to supporting and rehabilitating people with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions, promoting autonomy and inclusion in everyday life.
In collaboration with the institution, In-Nova developed a prototype of an assistive robotic spoon designed to help individuals with hand tremors during meals.
The solution uses a stabilization system that compensates for involuntary hand movements, helping keep the spoon steady while the user eats. The project involved the development of the physical prototype as well as the study and implementation of stabilization mechanisms suitable for this type of motor assistance.
The goal of the project was to explore technological solutions that can improve independence and quality of life for people with motor impairments in everyday activities.
