APCAS, Associação de Paralisia Cerebral de Almada Seixal, is an organization dedicated to supporting and rehabilitating people with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions, promoting autonomy and inclusion in everyday activities.
In collaboration with the institution, In-Nova developed an assistive robotic arm designed to support individuals with motor impairments during meals. The system was developed specifically for Samuel, a user with cerebral palsy supported by APCAS.
The robotic arm was designed to pick up food from a plate and bring it to the user's mouth, with the entire process controlled through the simple press of a button. The project involved the development of the mechanical system, control electronics, and motion programming to ensure safe and reliable operation.
The solution aims to increase independence for individuals with severe motor limitations, allowing them to perform an everyday task in a more autonomous way.
